KUALA LUMPUR, April 18 — Individuals named by Raja Petra Kamarudin have been called up by the police to give their statements on a statutory declaration by the blogger linking the prime minister and his wife to the murder of a Mongolian interpreter.

A police spokesman today confirmed the investigation into the matter but refused to identify those who had been summoned for questioning.

Raja Petra, popularly known by his initials “RPK”, had signed the legal document in 2008 implicating Datuk Seri Najib Razak and Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in the grisly slaying of Altantuya Shaariibuu, through her ties with former Najib aide Abdul Razak Baginda.

Altantuya was killed in late 2007 when Najib was then deputy prime minister.

Writing in his Malaysia-Today blogsite, Raja Petra claimed he made the declaration based a tip-off on from a Nik Azmi Nik Daud, who had cited information from a military intelligence officer identified as Col. Azmi Zainal Abidin. He added he then sought to corroborate this with two other men: John Pang and blogger Din Merican

He had also claimed he had never made the accusation personally against either Najib or his wife.

Today, the police spokesman added that the investigation would not be limited to the quartet named by Raja Petra. - Malaysian Insider
